VELUX blinds are sleek and stylish. Whether you want to redirect, soften or completely blackout light, VELUX makes it simple. You can choose from the range of Venetian and Blockout Blinds.
There are blind options available for the FS, VS, VSE, GGL and GHL models of skylights and windows. Blinds can be easily retrofitted should you decide to add a blind after your skylight or window is installed.
BLOCKOUT BLINDS
Blockout blinds come in three opening options – manual, solar or electric.
They completely block out the light when closed, making them the perfect solution for bedrooms, theatre rooms or any room where you would like the ability to completely block out the light from your skylight.
The interior colour of the blockout blind is white, which makes for a stylish look to complement any décor. They have a reflective backing which reduces heat gain and loss. Blockout blinds can be stopped at any position on the window.
Manual Blockout Blinds are available only on FS Skylights, GGL and GHL Roof Windows
Solar Blockout Blinds are available only on FS and VS Skylights.
Electric Blockout Blinds are available only on VSE Skylights and on FS Skylights with the addition of an electric control system and remote control.
VENETIAN BLINDS
Venetian blinds come in two opening options – manual or electric.
A venetian blind is best suited to a room where you would like to adjust the amount and direction of the light, such as a kitchen, bathroom or living area.
The venetian blinds are white in colour for a stylish look and the slats can be rotated or completely opened or closed to control your desired light influx. Venetian blinds reduce light by up to 85%.
Manual Venetian Blinds are available only on FS Skylights, GGL and GHL Roof Windows.
Electric Venetian Blinds are available only on VSE Skylights and on FS and VS Skylights with the addition of an electric control system and remote control.
OPENING OPTIONS
As specified above, there are manual, solar and electric opening options for blinds.
Manual Blinds on a window within reach can be opened and closed manually. A manual blind on a window out of reach can be opened and closed with a rod control, extendable up to 180cm.
Solar Blockout Blinds are a recent addition to the Velux range. The Eco Friendly version uses a clever built-in motor which uses the sun’s energy to power the motor. The blind is operated by a radio frequency wall-mounted keypad and requires no wiring and no Electrician.
Electric Blinds are operated KLR 100 radio frequency remote control. If the electric blind is being installed to an electric skylight (VSE), the blind is programmed into the skylight remote control (KLR 100) so that both the skylight and blind are operated from the one remote control, whilst still allowing the blind to be opened separately to the skylight and vice versa.
